Cristel Strate Removable Handle Cookware Care Guide

Quick Answer

Clean the handle and cookware by hand with mild soap and a soft sponge, dry thoroughly, and store the handle separately to avoid scratches. Avoid abrasive pads and dishwasher cycles.

Step-by-Step Care Routine

1. Detach the Handle: Press the release button and slide the handle off the cookware. Set the handle aside on a clean, dry surface. Never leave the handle attached during storage—moisture can get trapped in the connection point.
2. Hand Wash the Cookware: Use warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft sponge or cloth. Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately with a lint-free towel. Avoid steel wool or abrasive scrubbers—they can scratch the cookware surface.
3. Clean the Handle Separately: Wipe the handle with a damp cloth and mild soap. Pay extra attention to the attachment slot and any crevices. Rinse and dry completely. Do not submerge the handle in water or put it in the dishwasher—this can damage the release mechanism.
4. Inspect for Wear: Check the handle's release button and sliding mechanism for any debris or stiffness. Wipe away any buildup with a dry cloth. If the handle feels sticky or hard to attach, a gentle wipe with a dry cloth usually fixes it—no oil or lubricant needed.
5. Store Separately: Place the cookware in a stack with protective liners between pieces. Store the handle in a drawer or on a hook, away from heavy items. Storing the handle attached can bend the connection over time. Keep them separate to extend the life of both.
